Indeed Removes University Degree Requirements

My Approach:

As the program lead for this initiative, I brought together a working group with experts from Legal, DEIB+, HR, and Global Mobility. We began by reviewing Indeed's job profiles and conducted a risk assessment to understand the legal and immigration impacts of removing degree requirements. After consulting with leadership across all departments, we aligned on which roles were eligible for this change.

We worked with the HR Tech team to create a streamlined process for managing degree requirements in our Applicant Tracking System, integrating it with Workday. We also updated recruitment processes to ensure that job descriptions reflected the new requirements and were consistently maintained for new openings. Throughout the project, I kept leadership informed with regular updates.

I developed and implemented a change management strategy to ensure all stakeholders were well-prepared to adopt and support this change.

Results:

As a result of this program, Indeed removed degree requirements from all eligible job profiles, impacting 700+ job profiles. Removing this barrier will allow Indeed to engage, attract, and hire a wider pool of qualified candidates applying for jobs.
